October is the month and time to celebrate the connections that are happening all over the country between schools and local food! Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th through October 16th which corresponds with Mexican Independence Day which was celebrated on September 16th. This day recognizes the revolution in 1810 that ended Spanish dictatorship.
