Our Natural Soap Ingredients
Soap Base
Soap base is composed of fatty acids, glycerin, and other natural ingredients. The base is produced through the “saponification” process, which involves mixing fats and an alkali. The resulting substance is allowed to cure for up to four weeks before it’s ready for use.
African Black Soap - is made with raw Shea Butter and Coconut Oil, and is full of naturally derived minerals and antioxidants, renowned for their natural cleansing properties. This soap base has a dark and rich color which is produced naturally during the handmade processing of the African Black Soap in Ghana. It is vegetable based, sulfate free, excellent foaming and lathering. It has moisturizing properties from a very high glycerine content which provides a pleasant skin feel.
Double Butter Soap - is a wonderful combination of moisturizing mango and shea butters. Mango butter is a natural source of vitamin A, it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and increasing skin's overall youthful look. Treats dry skin: Dry patches, flakiness, and even sensitive skin can benefit from daily application of mango butter, which goes to work deeply moisturizing. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin.
Goats Milk Soap - leaves the skin with a hydrated appearance, firmness and feeling silky smooth. Goats milk is a natural emollient that contains vitamins A, B6, B12 and E. It also contains three times more beta-casein than cow's milk.
Oatmeal Soap - Granular raw oatmeal added to a goats milk or shea butter soap base along with essential oils and oil base type. Oatmeal exfoliate our skin and has great lather along with a “crunchy” oat look.
Olive Oil Soap - good for dry skin because of its essential fatty acids. This soap base has high content of olive oil, has a distinctive smell and is a light attractive pale yellow that may darken slightly over time. Olive oil is known to make a soap that is both gentle and moisturizing on the skin, while providing dense, creamy lather.
Shea Butter Soap - Superior moisturizer with natural vitamin A, an anti-inflammatory, a minor sunscreen agent. It gives off a creamy lather while promoting moisture and softening.
Oil Base (Carrier Oil)
Oil Base otherwise known as Carrier Oil are used for diluting essential oils prior to application. Most are made with vegetables, nuts or seeds and all are excellent for creating natural massage oils that nourish and moisturize the skin while imparting an essential oil's specific benefits.
Aloe Vera Oil - has softening and moisturizing properties. Its moisturizing ability is its most widely recognized characteristics. Aloe vera penetrates deep into the skin for healthy, soft skin.
Coconut Oil - Certified Organic is extracted from fresh mature coconuts using wet processing. The oil itself is widely used for its healing and hydration properties for the skin. It is light texture and is easily absorbed, great for moisturizing all skin types. It is used to nourish dry and sensitive skin with anti-microbial properties. Warning: Some people may be allergic to this oil.
Jojoba Oil - Not oil but a liquid wax that is rapidly absorbed and it leaves the skin feeling smooth. It is easily spread without leaving a shine. It consists of more than 70% fatty acids and is primarily mono-unsaturated. Jojoba oil is suitable for all types of skin, particularly aging skin. It is very similar to sebum, the natural oil produced by our own skin. High in vitamin E and is anti-oxidant which makes it good for mature, aging skin and wrinkles.
Sweet Almond Oil - Adds moisture, softening and soothes the skin. It provides a protective covering to the skin to heal inflammation and other skin irritations and infections, beneficial for dry skin and helps relieve itching, soreness and dryness. It is a nourishing oil that is nearest to the oil found naturally in the skin. Warning: Some people may be allergic to this oil.
Essential Oils
Essential oil is a natural product extracted from a single plant species. Not all plants produce essential oils, and
in the plants that do, the essential oil may be found in the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, or fruits.
All of the essential oils are 100 % pure.
The Essential Oil Mix is a mixture of two 100 % essential oils for the creation of positive synergistic interaction.
Bergamot oil for acne and skin. Several compounds in bergamot oil have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This may make bergamot oil an effective spot treatment for acne in people who do not have sensitive skin. Its analgesic qualities may also make it effective against painful cysts and pimples. Carrot Seed is added to moisturize, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and brighten the complexion. Carrot oil is rich in beta-carotene and vitamin A and E. It nourishes the skin, making it smooth and bright. Warnings: Avoid while pregnant or nursing. (Essential Oil Mix - Carrot Seed with Sweet Orange or Carrot Seed with Lavender )
Cedarwood promotes clear, radiant skin and healthy hair. Imagine the forest after a rainstorm, and the sun is just starting to break through the clouds and warm the surrounding trees—and the woodsy aroma of cedarwood finds you. This essential oil has a warm camphor-like top note with a woody, tenacious undertone, perfect for setting a fresh, outdoor ambiance. Warnings: Do not use if pregnant. Eucalyptus has many innate properties that make it an excellent choice for treating many skin conditions. It is a natural antiseptic and with antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties making it highly effective in treating wounds, minor cuts, acne, boils, insect bites, skin infections and more. Caution: For those with an estrogen-dependent cancer or pregnant should avoid eucalyptus. (Essential Oil Mix - Eucalyptus with Lemongrass)
Grapefruit essential oil has an even more powerful effect, stimulating the mind and promoting feelings of happiness. It is often added to creams and lotions to help treat acne and prevent oily skin. It is also known to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Grapefruit is also used to kill skin or internal bacteria and fungus and fight mold growth. Grapefruit essential oil has also been found to help heal wounds, cuts, and bites, and to prevent skin infections. Caution: Grapefruit essential oil can be a dermal irritant for sensitive individuals and is also phototoxic. (Essential Oil Mix - Grapefruit with Spearmint )
Lavender is restorative to the skin and promotes a vibrant and radiant complexion. Long known for its soothing qualities, lavender essential oil is the perfect addition to your evening blend or for simply winding down after an exhausting day. It will transport you to the rolling lavender fields of Provence, France… the wind kicking up, your nose catches the sweet scent of lavender: a floral-herbaceous and refreshing aroma with a pleasant, balsamic-woody undertone. Lavender is a restful oil that can help to feel calm, balance and relax. Lavender can relieve headaches particularly stress-related. It may be quite effective in clearing depression and can also be used to promote natural sleep. Lemongrass has benefit of skin healing properties. It is a effective cleanser for all skin types; its antiseptic and astringent properties make lemongrass oil perfect for getting even and glowing skin. It can sterilize your pores, serve as a natural toner, and strengthen your skin tissues. (Essential Oil Mix - Lemongrass with Cedarwood or Lemongrass with Eucalyptus)
Roman Chamomile - It is a lovely, floral addition to your skin care routine and can promote a glowing and radiant complexion. The floral and sweet essential oil of Roman chamomile is useful for balancing the mind and providing an overall sense of calm. Chamomile may help calm and relieve restlessness and tension. Spearmint has a sweet, invigorating scent, balancing and uplifting effect, which makes it beneficial for enhancing focus, positivity, and optimism and for deodorizing unpleasant scents. Spearmint oil reduces the appearance of wrinkles and skin imperfections such as discoloration. It stimulates the growth of new cells, thus increasing skin’s resilience and elasticity. Spearmint’s anti-bacterial properties work to eliminate harmful bacteria on the skin. It can unclog skin and promote its cleansing while leaving skin feeling cool and refreshed. Tea Tree Oil is ideal for maintaining radiant and healthy skin and nails. Colorants
Micas - are a powder colorant which usually contain a slight to intense shimmer. Micas are one of the most popular type of colorant in soap and other bath and beauty products. Micas refers to a group of metamorphic minerals. Metamorphic rocks and minerals are formed from pre-existing rocks by exposure to extreme heat and pressures. Micas come in many different forms due to the wide array of ways in which they can form within the earth. In fact, there are more than 20 different kinds of mica mineral!
